I decided to visit Hawaii for a week, and there is no better place to stay than the Aulani resort. Flew nonstop from San Francisco to Honolulu. From there, it was a short drive to the resort.
Here are some pictures of the room.
I really like the rainfall showerhead.
The tub has jets.
Lots of room to move around and relax. I made sure it was comfortable to play with my toys on the dining table.
The kitchen was a full kitchen, with a full size fridge, pots, pans, glassware, and even a rice cooker.
After putting the luggage away, I explored the resort. They sold a lot of nice items in the store. I liked this book.
I felt like I had this place all to myself.
Even the lights were special.
It was late now, so nobody’s in the pool. Seemed like a good time to do a cannon ball.
I think I’m going to build something here.
Time to go back to the room to rest. But first, a quick bath. I can even watch TV from here.
The next morning, I had a good breakfast. A big breakfast even.
And then it was time to explore more of the resort. I’m not sure why this bird was looking at me.
This tree is growing something special.
Dinner was at ‘AMA‘AMA tonight. We had a nice table, and really good food.
Of course I had to have dessert with my meal.
This was a pretty cool spot to sleep.
Woke up early Monday morning to get ready to visit a couple of spots on the island. But before leaving the room, I got a couple of pictures from the balcony. Here’s the pond with some big fish.
Here’s the water play area. It’s really fun there.
On the road I go, and first stop is the Dole Plantation.
They have a train ride called the Pineapple Express. It goes around the property and it’s relaxing.
They also have a pond full of fish. I decided to get some fish food and feed them. They were excited to see me.
Even this bird wanted some of that food. I gave it some.
I wonder if I can sell anyone something here?
Now it’s time for the maze. It’s a big maze.
There were a bunch of hidden spots in the maze, but I found them.
With the maze success, I treated myself to a Dole Whip.
And then it was off to the Polynesian Cultural Center.
I had a front row seat for the canoe pagent.
Do you believe I made this myself?
Walked around the place a bit. Found some interesting exhibits.
And then it was dinner time. My bird was thirsty.
And so was I, so I got a nice drink in a pineapple. A real pineapple.
The MC talked too much.
I’ve also been practicing on the ukulele. I think I’m going to play a song right now.
On Tuesday, it was a relaxing day at the resort. Here’s a picture from my balcony. You can see the lazy river snaking its way around.
I also worked on my homework this morning.
I spent a lot of time today at the pool.
The sunset from my balcony looks really nice.
These two guys played some really good music.
Wednesday is the day I visited Waimea Falls. It started with a hike.
It was raining for a bit. I knew how to stay dry.
I even had a poncho.
I also found some big snails along the way.
Finally made it to the falls.
On the way back, it rained a little more. Staying dry again…
The next morning, I stayed in bed a little later. I still had my iPad for entertainment.
After breakfast, I went to the kid’s club. They had this nice mailbox right outside.
It was a long day of playing in the club, the pools, and the beach.
With all that energy spent, I had a big appetite. Dinner tonight was at Makahiki. I had all sorts of food.
This cookie was really good. I ate the whole thing.
A few characters decided to take pictures with me too while I was eating.
I had some worms in between taking pictures.
And then Dale came by to take a picture with me.
Lots of fun with the party line.
It was a good dinner.
Friday was just another relaxing day.
And I finished off the day with a Dole Whip at the resort.
Before leaving for the airport Saturday morning, I decided to take pictures from both of our balconies.
